It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Crick, or “Cricky” as we knew him at Tract – Senior Principal, architect, artist, friend, and mentor.
Prior to joining Tract in 2012, Peter was a renowned architect with Perrott Lyon Mathieson and came highly regarded by many at Tract who had worked with him over the years. Upon joining Tract, Peter’s impact was immediately felt as he jumped into some landmark projects across Australia.
At any one time, he could be found working on large infrastructure projects such as the award-winning Northern Connector in South Australia developing exemplar bridge and retaining wall designs, or major tourism master plans such as the hot springs in Phillip Island and the CORA project southwest of Geelong. He worked closely with the Urban Design team using his architectural skill and experience to provide built form advice and broad design inputs.
Peter was known for bringing his exceptional architectural flair and x-factor to every project, commonly referred to at Tract as ‘Cricky brilliance.’ Peter could turn an outline on a plan into an exciting community hub, turn a paddock into a resort, and turn a plain, concrete bridge into an artistic masterpiece.
Peter was highly regarded by our team and clients alike, for his incredible ability to visualise a design concept at any scale. He was a true multidisciplinary collaborator and team player with an unrivalled skill with the black pen – using his experience, creative ideas, and sketches to bring design concepts to life.
Pete will forever remain a part of Tract, and his legacy and vision live on in his projects, his sketches and in those he has mentored throughout his career.
Vale Peter Crick
