Drewan Park is a popular council reserve which enjoys elevated topography and sweeping panoramic views over Geelong, as well as being adjacent to an existing established residential neighbourhood.

The park facilities were aging, prompting Villawood to propose significant upgrades to the reserve. The works aimed to improve the quality of the space and its facilities while fostering better integration with the adjoining Wandana residential development. The project included installation of new pathways, seating, planting, turf lawn, playground equipment and BBQ facilities.

The park continues to be well used by the community who enjoy the new play equipment and upgraded facilities in a high-quality open space setting.

The upgraded play space includes a new play tower for older kids, a half-ballcourt, swings as well as a shelter including upgraded toilet facilities. Villawood asked the community for feedback after the upgrades, and as a result extra play areas were created to cater for younger children, especially toddlers in the area.

The upgrade is an excellent demonstration of collaboration between council and developer, with a shared goal to deliver high quality public open space that benefits the broader community.
