A key aspect of the new community is the promotion of outdoor activity through access to open space and the natural environment. The bespoke play space designs encourage all age groups from toddlers to young adults to engage in play, promoting an active lifestyle in day to day life.
The reserves cater for various needs welcoming locals and visitors alike, encouraging social gathering in the central communal spaces, and active play in the flexible kick about space. These open spaces incorporate a range of play facilities, from custom play towers, to trampolines, slide and swings.
The Grand Prix Park has become a destination playground for the wider local community. It offers a place for younger children to play with friends, race their scooter or small bike, and promotes interaction with other children.
Further flexible uses include; grassy slopes for reclining and viewing over the racetrack, grandstand seating walls for meeting and viewing over the racetrack, informal nature trails through feature sensory planting and retained existing trees, and pedestrian paths with seating to the perimeter of the park for leisure and fitness.
