Since 2021, Tract has provided ongoing landscape architecture services to SA Health and Silver Thomas Hanley Architects for the reactivation of the Repat Health Precinct in Daw Park, South Australia.
The Repat Health Precinct provides a range of health and wellbeing services focused on improving quality of life and delivering for the needs of people with complex needs, including mental illness, rehabilitation and dementia.
Tract’s landscape approach has centred on leveraging the natural beauty of the site’s established gardens to create complementary tree and plant palettes that are seasonal, colourful and responsive to the precinct’s unique character.
A particular emphasis has been placed on the colour yellow, reflecting the history and identity of the Repat. Layered planting and carefully positioned trees contribute to a holistic healing environment, enhancing physical and visual connections to nature throughout the precinct while providing screening where appropriate.
Working across multiple stages of the precinct’s reactivation, Tract has delivered streetscape works, entry statements, ward courtyards and public realm linkages that strengthen the landscape framework of the site and support its evolving healthcare functions.
The Repat Health Precinct stands as a model of integrated care, blending heritage, innovation and adaptive reuse to create a dynamic healthcare environment that supports recovery, community engagement and long-term wellbeing.
