Local: Kensington is a landmark Build to Rent development at 346–350 Macaulay Road, delivering 477 apartments across six eight-storey buildings within a carefully composed inner-urban village precinct.
Designed by Hayball, the project draws on Kensington’s industrial character through white brick masonry, sculptural archways and robust black metal detailing, while open-air laneways, landscaped walkways and rooftop gardens create a highly connected residential environment. Positioned close to shops, public transport and everyday services, the development offers a strong lifestyle proposition centred on convenience, accessibility and long-term urban liveability.
The project’s Build to Rent model is supported by a generous suite of shared amenities, including private dining rooms, co-working spaces, wellness and gym facilities, a cinema, art studio, swimming pool, landscaped communal areas and rooftop terraces that extend everyday living beyond the apartment.
Ground-floor retail and thoughtfully designed public-facing landscape elements further activate the precinct and strengthen its connection to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Our team provided town planning services for the project, securing the planning permit approval and supporting the delivery of a high-quality residential outcome that responds to its context, promotes community-focused living and contributes to the evolution of Melbourne’s rental housing sector.
