Strategic planning at a federal, state and local level is critical for setting clear goals and visions for the future of our cities and regions. Achieving a liveable, resilient and thriving urban and natural environment requires decades of sustained, coordinated action across the public and private sectors and with communities.

Ensuring that policy and strategy is underpinned by trusted, contextual data is fundamental to meeting these aspirations. We combine spatial technology and data with extensive expertise to develop unique insights and place-based solutions.

We harness the power of spatial technology to reveal insights into the complex interplay between space, people, and the environment.

This enables our planners and designers to make informed decisions with a forward focused lens, and address the evolving needs of each community.

Mansfield Housing Strategy

We identify greenfield housing opportunities using spatial sieve analysis to highlight suitable development areas.

For infill housing, we assess individual properties based on accessibility and development constraints.

These insights are then translated into a practical housing framework, complete with estimates of future housing capacity.

Sunshine Coast Place and Character Report

Character Assessments reflect a nuanced understanding of ‘place and character’, the result of a meticulous approach to character research on a broad scale.

Studies ensure that the decision making process is respectful of local values and priorities, considering unique and distinct characteristics of local areas.

Site Suitability Analysis

Site Suitability Analysis considers a checklist of needs to find sites that match the required location, zoning, and demographic profile of a clients ideal site.

Our team utilises Multi-Criteria Evaluation of large scale input datasets across a wide geographic area to rank suitable sites based on a desired end use.

Our powerful visualisations effectively communicate complex geographic relationships and enable informed decisions about site selection.

Healthy Cities Study, QLD

Using our proprietary data-driven geospatial tools, we’ve developed a series of public research projects that explore liveability across suburbs and sites. By analysing a wide range of data sources, our published Liveability Studies have gained significant attention and contributed meaningfully to conversations about quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

In addition to these studies, we also create customisable, interactive Liveability Calculators – allowing users to explore and compare liveability metrics in a dynamic and accessible way.

Whether at a precinct-wide or site-specific scale, our team identifies priority areas for tree canopy expansion or conservation through detailed technical analysis. We examine land use, socio-economic factors, movement patterns, pedestrian activity, and existing vegetation cover to deliver clear, data-driven recommendations.

This helps pinpoint locations most affected by urban heat island effects and highlights areas that would benefit most from increased canopy coverage.

Viewshed Analysis

Our team provides expert landscape and visual impact assessments across a wide range of sectors. This includes nature-based tourism, parks, coastal planning, and environmental projects, as well as new communities and urban design. We also support major infrastructure developments, from transport and renewable energy to industrial and extractive industries.

By combining technical expertise with a strong understanding of planning frameworks, we help clients assess and manage visual impacts in a way that supports project approvals and enhances outcomes for communities and the environment.

Manningham Slope Analysis

Our team offers a comprehensive suite of spatial and analytical services to support planning and design decisions.

We assess environmental factors such as slope, aspect, drainage, viewshed and visual influence zones, to understand site potential and constraints.

We explore context and liveability, test development scenarios, and conduct housing capacity assessments to inform strategic planning. Our expertise also includes planning scheme mapping, Google Earth data creation, and the development of interactive maps.

We manage and create custom datasets to ensure our clients have access to accurate, actionable information throughout every stage of their project.

Penrith Green Grid

Our spatial methodologies continue to evolve to respond to social, economic and environmental challenges facing Australia.

To do this we draw on the combined expertise of our Urban Designers, Planners, Landscape Architects and GIS specialists to connect data and technology to real-world issues.

We have developed first of its kind methodologies to model walking and cycling networks, comprehensively analyse urban character, and assess the livability and climate resilience of communities across Australia.

Our methodologies are customised for each client but always based on the premise of building and comprehensive evidence base to address urban challenges.

Walking and cycling networks

Our pedestrian accessibility and walking catchment analysis tools determine walking distance along streets from each property to key destinations such as public transport, shops, open space and community facilities.

This advanced analysis provides robust data to support streetscape designs that support walking as part of a sustainable and resilient transport system.

Climate Resilience Index

We offer a range of interactive, web-based tools designed to support planning, analysis, and decision-making.

These include dynamic maps, data-rich visualisations, and site-finding tools that help identify development opportunities.

Our Liveability Studies provide valuable insights into neighbourhood quality, while our climate and biodiversity impact analysis tools support sustainable planning and design outcomes.

Strategy and spatial analysis projects

We start each project by interrogating the brief, understanding context, and engaging with our clients and the community. This enables us to provide targeted research and analysis, which is tailored to the issues and challenges facing each place.
