Liveable Sydney Study Wins 2017 AILA New South Wales Award

Liveable Sydney, a landmark study measuring the liveability of Sydney’s 555 suburbs according to 16 criteria, was among the winners at the 2017 AILA New South Wales Awards announced at the IVY Ballroom in Sydney on Thursday 27 July.

Tract was proud to receive the Landscape Architecture Award for Research, Policy and Communication in partnership with Deloitte Access Economics for Fairfax Media (Domain), having produced the Liveable Sydney Study.
The study was the first of its kind to explore the liveability of all Sydney suburbs and “…draws together a wealth of data to rate the quality of life in neighbourhoods across Greater Sydney” (The Doman, 1 August 2016). The methodology was based on a set of 16 indicators, with the individual results combined to rank the suburbs according to their relative liveability.

With Sydney ranked as one of the world’s most liveable cities, this study considers the liveability at a local level by comparing suburbs across the city.

The chosen indicators have considered liveability from a broad perspective for the population as a whole and seek reflect the quality of a suburb as a place to live.
Congratulations to the entire project team and the continued discussion on the future of liveability.
