Tract Consultants prepared and managed a planning permit application for the construction of 1000 apartments across five (5) residential towers, above a lower level supermarket, showroom and retail spaces on a 0.95ha site at Hopkins Street, Footscray. The apartment buildings ranged in height from 13 to 31 levels.
The site forms part of the Footscray Central Activty District and has close proximity to existing service transport infrastructure such as the Footscray Train Station, bus interchange and major arterial roads.
A fundamental element of the design was the treatment of the ground level buildings and spaces to ensure that these areas engaged and contributed to the broader streetscape and pedestrian network.
Tract Consultants also prepared the Landscape Plan with landscaping to the ground level and upper podium levels.
The application was approved in November 2012.
