2017 AILA National Landscape Architecture Awards_____

2017 AILA National Landscape Architecture Awards

The 2017 National Landscape Architecture Awards held last Thursday night at the International Festival of Landscape Architecture in Sydney was a celebration of the leading projects shaping green, open and public spaces across Australia.

With a contingent of our staff from around the country, Tract was proud to be the recipient of 3 Landscape Architecture Awards. We extend our congratulations to all the teams and collaborators involved with Townsville Railyards, UQ Synthetic Sports Ovals and The Journey Interactive Map.

Townsville North Railyards Future Directions
Urban Design - Landscape Architecture Award
Tract Consultants Conrad & Gargett Architects, Calcutta Group, Townsville City Council

Obvious care has been taken to retain and integrate historic site features within a holistic development plan that will be a catalyst for establishment of a new urban village with an emphasis on innovation.
UQ Synthetic Sports Ovals
Infrastructure - Landscape Architecture Award
Tract Consultants, BVN Architects

The project successfully integrates a number of large scale infrastructure assets; parking, synthetic sports pitches, within a challenging, flood impacted context. It delivers an exciting new destination, enhanced facilities and a social hub on campus.

The Journey Interactive Map
Tourism - Landscape Architecture Award
Tract Consultants, AECOM, Aspect Studio, AILA

We saw this as a way to literally put landscape on the map, but also get a much broader audience thinking about landscape in the city. It elevates the profession and exposes us to new audiences – which we loved.
