Tract secured planning approval for 36 homes at 552A Burke Road, in the heart of Camberwell Junction.
The proposal was fast-tracked by the Victorian State Government’s Development Facilitation Program, with support from the Department of Transport and Planning, and delivers additional housing to existing underutilised land in the core of Camberwell’s ‘Civic Precinct.’
Designed by Freadman White, the approved scheme comprises a mix of two and three-bedroom apartments, a gallery, café and a generous publicly accessible pedestrian connection to leafy Lower Reserve.
The part 4 and part 8-storey built form offers considered density that responds to its context, and a sensitive heritage response to the neighbouring St John’s Anglican Church.
Just around the corner from Camberwell Junction – a thriving shopping precinct serviced by Camberwell Station, tram routes 70, 72 and 75, and nearby schools including Camberwell Primary School and Camberwell High School – this development offers liveability, walkability and housing choice.
