In 2018, Tract was engaged to develop the masterplan for the Eynesbury Recreation Reserve, building on our long-standing involvement in the area since 2005. Centrally located in Eynesbury, the reserve was envisioned as a vibrant hub for sport, play, and community connection.
The masterplan delivered a diverse mix of facilities to support active lifestyles and inclusive recreation, including:
- Six tennis courts
- Two netball courts
- Full-sized AFL oval
- Dog off-leash area
- Nature-based playground
- Community pavilion with integrated landscaping
Tract led a comprehensive consultation process to ensure the playground met the needs of all ages and abilities. The final design features varied play equipment and surface treatments, anchored by a custom play tower inspired by Eynesbury’s historic water towers—creating a strong sense of local identity and visual interest.
Banded paving connects the pavilion to the street, subtly incorporating DDA and emergency access while maintaining a pedestrian-friendly feel. Carefully designed level changes throughout the site offer informal seating and viewing areas, with a leaner rail providing elevated views across the oval.
Since opening in 2021, the Eynesbury Recreation Reserve has become a focal point for the community—supporting active living, social connection, and a deepened sense of place.
