On behalf of the Places Victoria, previously known as Urban Regional Land Corporation (URLC) and VicUrban, Tract co-ordinated the development approval of the former Dandenong Saleyards.
Tract used innovative planning outcomes through the introduction of the Comprehensive Development Zone to best resolve the planning approval framework for the site. A new and exciting mixed-use community precinct with appropriately higher residential densities adjacent to the Dandenong Railway Station has been provided.
The site provides a key western gateway into the Dandenong Central Business District and the development provided an opportunity to re-invigorate and enhance the living and working diversity in Dandenong.
By embracing principles of the State Governments Transit Cities Program, sustainable design and ecologically sound practice, Tract assisted in the design and delivery of planning approval of this uniquely integrated living and work based development.
On completion in approximately 2015, Metro Village 3175 will comprise 1000 homes for approximately 3000 residents.
The site has delivered an innovative development with major social and economic benefits to the City of Greater Dandenong and wider region.
