Tract, as part of the MC3 group, has led the preparation of the public realm masterplan and detailed design concepts for a new Maroochydore City Centre on a 53ha site on the Sunshine Coast.

The vision for the Maroochydore City Centre represented a once in a lifetime opportunity to establish a new capital city for the Sunshine Coast. In response, the submission provided a bold and exciting proposal to guide the growth of this new centre and the creation of a vibrant and sustainable, world renowned destination for future generations to enjoy.

The work included all concepts for the public realm, including open space, streets, parklands and water bodies, art activation and the integration of an active transport strategy. Tract was engaged to undertake the following services:

• Landscape and Urban Design concept plans of the Public Realm including Streetscapes
• Detailed Design of the Public Realm including Streetscapes
• Project Management of lighting, art, structural and wayfinding components
• Design workshops
• Community Development Plan
