Old Royal Adelaide Hospital Design Competition

​In 2016, the current Royal Adelaide Hospital will be relocated. The move presents an opportunity to consider the vacated site from a number of viewpoints and create an iconic place within the Greater Riverbank Precinct and the City of Adelaide.

A design Led Engagement Process, led by the Office of Design and Architecture SA in partnership with Renewal SA, will be delivered by December 2013 and comprise of three key initiatives:
  • stakeholder and interested parties consultation
  • community consultation and engagement
  • A two stage Open Ideas Design Competition
The process will ensure that the current Royal Adelaide Hospital Site integrates with the Greater Riverbank Precinct Implementation Plan and strengthens connections to the Roverbank, East End and CBD, University Precinct and the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide.

Tract's design submission 'A Place for Wellbeing' presented a concept that looked at creating a space for wellbeing of all ages through promoting health, life long learning and cultural richness.
