Elizabeth graduated from QUT last year with First Class Honours, and was awarded the Ministers Town Planning Prize – QUT, for her 4th year Honours Thesis, titled "The Greater Good: The Noise Impacts of Wind Turbines upon Rural Amenity".

The award is recognised to be one of the highest honours given to a graduating planning student in Queensland. It was presented by Hon. Jackie Trad MP for South Brisbane, Deputy Premier, Minister for Transport and Minister for Infrastructure and Planning for the Queensland Government.

Elizabeths' thesis focused on the determination of appropriate siting for wind farms in rural contexts, when primarily considering noise impacts, using the Southern Downs region as a case study. She developed a model using GIS and other methods, which determined 37 sites to have potential development opportunities for wind farms and recommended further analysis. The goal of the model was to produce the highest and best outcomes for wind energy development while also protecting the amenity of rural areas and the private enjoyment of individuals therein.
