The 2015 President’s Award goes to a group of landscape architects who have worked together across the divide of different nationality, state government, private sector and contractor to produce a new place in the heart of Sydney. A place where the people of Sydney, NSW, Australia or the world can marvel at the city; experience the ecology; play, relax, climb, cycle; learn about the past landscape; and see at first hand the amazing contribution that landscape architects can make.

Peter Walker and Partners, Johnson Pilton Walker,Stuart Pittendrigh, Ron Powell and Tract are the landscape architects that have designed and supervised implementation of Barangaroo Reserve. Collaborating with visionary support and in strong partnership with engineering and construction teams.Inputting creativity and vision at the city, concept and detail scales.

Sustainably reusing the site won Sydney sandstone and placing it with respect for - not mimicking - the natural landscape. Designing the soils and vegetation as one integrated natural system. Bringing the elements together in a simple and refined manner to create a unique and delightful experience in movement along the winding foreshore. Immersing the park users in the heart of Sydney Harbour with a visual, emotional and historic connection to the reserves and headlands.
