Eco-tourism experience Wildlife Wonders Secures Funding

Wildlife Wonders a new venture by the Conservation Ecology Centre has been awarded a $2m funding grant through the Regional Jobs and Investment Package.

Wildlife Wonders will offer visitors to the Great Ocean Road unsurpassed opportunities to observe and photograph the iconic animals of the area in a natural, predator-free setting. The project also includes a themed ‘field-research base’; visitor arrivals building; and a café and retail outlet showcasing local products.

All proceeds from the project will go towards responding to urgent conservation challenges in the Otways region, including environmental restoration, and ecological research.

Current projects involve conservation of threatened species such as the Tiger Quoll and the Long-nosed Potoroo, improving woodland habitat for koalas and working with Parks Victoria to better understand how foxes impact native species.

Tract is proud to have been associated with the planning and landscape architecture for the Wildlife Wonders not-for-profit venture.
