Tract was engaged by the Great Ocean Road Coastal Committee to prepare a plan for the redevelopment of the Point Grey Precinct at the southern entrance to Lorne. The plan identifies future land uses for Point Grey concept designs for the layout of the precinct, its buildings and infrastructure. It will be supported by a comprehensive funding model and implementation plan, which will help to bring the plan to fruition.
A key challenge for the project is the delivery of a cohesive public realm and built form response which focuses on the experience of people, maximises the connection with the spectacular landscape setting and captures the unique ‘rugged’ character of the site. This needs to be balanced with access and environmental requirements, for such a unique and important site.
The project provides significant opportunities for the community provide input and help shape the plan through a range of surveys and ‘open house’ events at key stages.
