Tract Consultants was engaged by Pan Urban to work in conjunction with Elenberg Fraser establishing a landscape treatment for this luxury residential tower at 401 St Kilda Road.
Planters were integrated within the soft curves of the building form and overflow with a palette of cascading plants. The evergreen climbers drape and tumble down the face of the building and stretch up to the upper levels providing a soft green veil to the building. The composition is one of soft green clouds that drift in and out from the building creating pockets of seclusion for the private terraces beyond.
The abundance of green foliage blends seamlessly with the canopy of the adjacent mature street trees and provides a positive contribution to the streetscape amenity.
In addition to the façade planters, a number of raised planters were integrated between tenancies to assist with privacy and overlooking. The grand landscape terraces to the upper floor penthouses extend the functions of the building to the outdoors and integrate timber decks, artificial turf, raised planters, ambient lighting and clusters of ornamental flower pots.
