Urban Activation Events

Tract is contributing to two ephemeral, urban activation events this month with Matter of Fact and the Darebin Pop-Up.

Matter of Fact concludes Moreland City Council’s month long contemporary art festival MoreArt 2015. It will be held at Jewell Station in Brunswick, Friday 4 December 7pm.

Ben Lamason of Tract has curated a series of projections, illuminating the history and changing urban environment of Brunswick.

This is a free event, see the invite.
Darebin Pop-Up

A pocket park is emerging over a road. The Darebin pop-up has been constructed at the junction of High Street and Oakover Road in Preston, and will be open-for-leisure for the duration of day-light savings 2015-16.

The park is assembled from custom-made, demountable, playful furniture and containerised planting to create a people’s park and act as a provocation to rethink how much of our city is dedicated to cars. What could Melbourne look like if we seriously rethought transport?

A Darebin Council initiative – the park has been designed by a small team lead by Phil Harkin of Tract and will be officially launched Saturday 5 December 11am-2pm.
