University of Melbourne Dean’s Honours Awards

Tract sends big congratulations to Town Planning Assistant Paul Lewis, Student Landscape Architect Kate Grant and Graduate Landscape Architect Esther Ziebell on receiving 2016 Dean’s Honours Awards from the University of Melbourne in their respective disciplines.

The Dean’s Honours Awards are awarded to the top 3% of students from each coursework program and are a great achievement.

Paul also received the SGS Graham Larcombe Scholarship which is awarded for demonstrating interest in equity and social disadvantage issues in urban development. He received the scholarship for his work in the subjects Cities without Slums and Inclusive Cities.

Esther was also awarded the Ellis Stones Memorial Award for Research in Landscape Architecture for her thesis ‘Gathering in Kalkarindji’. The prize is awarded for excellence in research in the Master of Landscape Architecture. The thesis focused on the design of usable public open space in remote Aboriginal communities. Esther’s thesis was also nominated by the University of Melbourne for the 2016 HASSELL Travelling Scholarship (Robin Edmond Award).
